JANUARY 2020 - HJ RICS APC TRAINING PROGRAMME

The new year is set to be a busy one for the Hargreaves Jones APC Candidates as the last APC Session held in December 2019 saw the attendance of 10 out of 14 prospective candidates with Managing Director Peter Hargreaves and Senior Chartered Surveyor Richard Dunn.

The recent re-focus of the sessions has provided new emphasis onto the business’ drive to develop and promote from within, with the RICS APC process providing the perfect platform for talented employees to demonstrate their drive and determination to succeed whilst continuing to provide an excellent service for our Clients.

HJ Senior Chartered QS Richard Dunn said “The HJ APC Sessions are purposefully competency focused, with each session being tailored and led by 1 of the current 6 elected counsellors for the business ensuring maximum exposure to different experiences and exposures to the APC Process. Live examples from previous successful candidates are used to dissect and analyse the requirements for candidate submission.

Meetings are followed on from a co-ordinated counsellor to counsellor meeting to ensure a competency and individual driven focus, with structured and coherent support provided to all candidates. All counsellors undertake the formal RICS Supervisor and Counsellor training courses and are therefore fully briefed as to the requirements of the APC and the support required.

This is one of the many reasons HJ has been successful in attracting and retaining young talent over the last few years and has recently been announced in the 2019 Edition of Building Magazines Top 150 Consultants for the fourth consecutive year.

The year 2020 will see 6 APC Sessions held Bi-Monthly, covering a range of focused topics from all members of staff from the Directors to recent Graduates.
