May 2017 - Graduate pipeline at full flow

Hargreaves Jones are pleased to announce the graduate pipeline of new employee’s is continuing to flow this year with two graduates commencing employment with the company in May 2017. Peter Hargreaves – Managing Director – confirmed that the company was looking to employ at least one more graduate QS this summer to continue the tradition of recruiting a minimum of two/three graduates per year.

July 2017 - Latest on Caithness Moray HVDC £1.1bn undersea energy link…Dredger clears seabed for 100-mile power cables

• Rocks and boulders have now been cleared from the seabed to make way for the two new high voltage direct (HVDC) cables that are due to be laid between Caithness and Moray. This is the first in a series of big offshore works due to be carried out on the project.
• The route for the cable was cleared by the Siem Ruby dredger(above), which used a specialist subsea boulder clearance plough. The same vessel is currently being used to create a trench for the line.

First HJ commission with Iberdrola - HJ have been appointed by Iberdrola Engineering & Construction to provide an independent opinion and recommendations in relation to a series of potential civil works disputes they have with one of their contractors on a Renewables Windfarm project in Scotland.
Our scope involves a review of the claims, specifically the rules around civils method of measurement.
